lev had this ..sense of pride within him, it was that little ounce of satisfaction he got from getting back on his feet time & time again, no matter how hard he was struck down. was it his preferred way of doing fights? fuck no. but lately, he hadn't exactly had much of a say in it, so the fact he was still standing now.. yeah, he definitely felt a little smug. not that he paraded it around much, especially because to pride himself on getting up again & again, he'd have to admit to falling.

Today I walked past Zoe Kenneth's house, which is actually in Jericho, and it is so close to the city centre (a 15 min walk to the museum of natural history?) I couldn't help but think that Robbie and James must have walked/driven thru that neighbourhood after. So now I'm thinking about what that must have been like that for the both of them.

I wonder whether the house stayed burnt down for many months, a physical marker of everything that went down that night, of mistakes you can't put right and tragedy and also love as salvation, as the force that saves and redeems you, or if it was quickly renovated so that - like James perhaps - you couldn't tell anything happened there at all by looking at it.
